This page shows where Porkbun is the better deal, and where a domain held in our company's name fits better. **Quick answer — What is a Porkbun privacy alternative?** A Porkbun privacy alternative matters where Private by Design cannot go: Porkbun does not offer it on .de, .uk, .us, .ca or .au. **NomineeName** registers .de and .uk in the name of DomaineGoat LLC, so the registry receives the company's address. Porkbun's page says it is published as the registrant in the public WHOIS and that mail is forwarded to you. Abuse reports go to abuse@private.design. The page we read does not say whether Private by Design becomes the legal holder in the registrar's records. It does say where the service stops: .us, .de, .uk, .ca, .au and some other extensions. Compare it with seven other names in our [registrant-of-record index](https://nomineename.com/registrant-of-record-index/). ## Why choose NomineeName over Porkbun for privacy? NomineeName is a nominee domain registration service from Panama: every domain is registered in the name of DomaineGoat LLC by default, so the registration record and WHOIS show the company, never you — no ID, no KYC, paid in crypto. - **Country extensions.** The .de, .uk, .nl and .ch registries ask for a holder's name and postal address. Here they receive the company's: see [.de](https://nomineename.com/tld/de/) and [.uk](https://nomineename.com/tld/uk/). - **No ID check.** Porkbun may ask some new customers for a photo ID through Veriff. We ask for one verified email per domain, kept private. - **A written holder and release rule.** You are the beneficial owner under our [terms](https://nomineename.com/legal/terms/). Data goes out only when Panamanian law requires it (a Panamanian court or prosecutor's order), or in a UDRP case; see the [disclosure policy](https://nomineename.com/disclosure-policy/). - **More coins.** BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, against USDC on Porkbun's support page. ## Where does Porkbun do better? On price, most of the time. Porkbun's .com is $11.08, below our $12.99. Its .io, .ai and first-year .xyz also cost less than ours, as of 8 October 2026. Its privacy is free. Say your domain is a .com or .io and you are happy to be the legal holder. If Porkbun does not ask you for an ID, it is the better deal. NomineeName fits when you want the company as holder, a country extension without your address, or no ID check at all. ## Can I move a .de or .uk domain from Porkbun? Yes. Unlock the domain at Porkbun and get its transfer code. Top up your NomineeName balance in crypto from $25. Send the exact amount on the exact network; it is credited once the network confirms it. Start the transfer from your account. Once it completes, the .de or .uk registry holds DomaineGoat LLC's details, not yours. Private by Design, LLC is Porkbun's free WHOIS privacy service, based in Sanford, North Carolina. Porkbun says it is published as the registrant in public WHOIS and forwards your mail. Seeing the name in a record means the domain is at Porkbun with privacy on. Abuse reports go to abuse@private.design. ### Why can't I get Porkbun privacy on a .de or .uk domain? Porkbun's page lists .us, .de, .uk, .ca, .au and other extensions as not covered. Each registry sets its own rules on privacy services. With NomineeName, the .de and .uk registries receive the details of DomaineGoat LLC, the registrant of record, instead of yours. We cannot hold .us, .eu, .fr, .it or .ca: see [extensions we cannot hold](https://nomineename.com/extensions-we-cannot-hold/). ### Is Porkbun cheaper than NomineeName? On most popular extensions, yes. Porkbun lists .com at $11.08 and .io at $28.12 in the first year, as of 8 October 2026; we charge $12.99 and $54.99. Our price includes registration in our company's name, which Porkbun does not sell. See our full [pricing](https://nomineename.com/pricing/). ### Does Porkbun ask for ID? Sometimes. Porkbun's help centre says it asks a subset of new accounts for a photo ID through Veriff, based on location and other signals. NomineeName does not: no ID, no KYC — only a verified email, kept private. ICANN rules require a working contact, so we verify one email per domain. ### Can I pay NomineeName with USDC like at Porkbun? Yes, and with other coins: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. Your prepaid balance, topped up from $25, pays for registrations, renewals and transfers. Send the exact amount on the exact network shown. The amount is matched exactly and credited once the network confirms it. See [pay with crypto](https://nomineename.com/pay-with-crypto/) for the networks and confirmations. ## Sources 1.
