**Quick answer — What is nominee domain registration, in one paragraph?**

Nominee domain registration means a company holds the domain for you. At **NomineeName**, that company is DomaineGoat LLC, incorporated in Panama: the registrant record and WHOIS/RDAP show it, never you, and you control the domain as beneficial owner. As of October 2026, a .com costs **$12.99/year** with this included. No ID, no KYC, paid in crypto.

## The short version

## The basics

### What is NomineeName?

NomineeName is a nominee domain registration service from Panama: every domain is registered in the name of DomaineGoat LLC by default, so the registration record and WHOIS show the company, never you — no ID, no KYC, paid in crypto. It is operated by DomaineGoat LLC, incorporated in Panama, which is not an ICANN-accredited registrar. Domains are registered through our ICANN-accredited registrar partner, shown in the RDAP record.

### Is a domain registered in your name really mine?

You are the beneficial owner. Our company is the registrant of record, and our [terms](https://nomineename.com/legal/terms/) give you control of DNS, nameservers, renewals and redirects. The transfer code is free, from your account, at any time. The hand-back to your own name is free, on request to support from your verified email address, where the registry accepts you as holder. There is no exit fee. Details: [beneficial ownership](https://nomineename.com/beneficial-ownership/).

### What does the registry see?

It depends on the registry, but never you. Registries that keep contact data, such as PIR for .org or DENIC for .de, receive DomaineGoat LLC's name and address as holder and keep their own copy under their own law. The .com and .net registries (Verisign) are thin: they receive no registrant contact data at all, and the registrar's record names the company. Your name, address, phone and email are never sent to any registry.

### How is this different from free WHOIS privacy?

WHOIS privacy only hides your details from the public. The registrar still holds your name and address, and so do registries that keep contact data. With nominee registration, the record itself names our company, so your details are in no registrant record at all. Comparison: [nominee vs WHOIS privacy](https://nomineename.com/nominee-vs-whois-privacy/).

### Who uses nominee registration?

Founders before a launch, writers and artists who keep their home address private, and owners of many domains. Also people who need a .de, .uk or .ch without giving a registry their address. Examples: [startup domains before launch](https://nomineename.com/use-cases/startup-before-launch/), [a domain portfolio](https://nomineename.com/use-cases/domain-portfolio/) and [a personal site without your home address](https://nomineename.com/use-cases/personal-site-without-home-address/).

## Data and privacy

### Do you verify my identity?

No ID, no KYC — only a verified email, kept private. We ask for no ID document, no selfie, no ID number, no phone and no postal address. ICANN rules require a reachable contact, verified within 15 days of a registration, a transfer or a change, so the email is needed. It is never published and never sent to the registry. See [registration without ID](https://nomineename.com/domain-registration-without-id/).

### Who can get my details from you?

DomaineGoat LLC releases the data it holds only when Panamanian law requires it (a Panamanian court or prosecutor's order), or in a UDRP case. A foreign request needs Panamanian legal process first. The full rule is in our [disclosure policy](https://nomineename.com/disclosure-policy/).

### Does ICANN hold the nominee responsible for the domain?

Yes. Under section 3.7.7.3 of ICANN's registrar agreement, a holder that licenses a domain to someone else stays the Registered Name Holder. It accepts liability for harm from wrongful use unless it discloses the user within 7 days to whoever gives reasonable evidence of actionable harm. We do not disclose on a third party's evidence alone, only under our disclosure policy, so DomaineGoat LLC carries that liability.

### What appears in a WHOIS or RDAP lookup of my domain?

Our company as registrant, or fields the registry redacts, plus the public technical data every domain has: registrar, creation and expiry dates, nameservers and status codes. Check any domain yourself on lookup.icann.org. Our guide explains each field: [check who the registrant is](https://nomineename.com/guides/check-who-the-registrant-is/).

### Will mail sent to the registrant reach me?

Messages sent to the public registrant contact are forwarded to your verified email; spam and bulk mail are not forwarded. Your own address stays hidden. Legal documents addressed to our company about your domain are handled under our [terms](https://nomineename.com/legal/terms/) and policies.

## Prices and payment

### How much does a domain cost?

One price per extension per year, with nominee registration included. A .com costs $12.99/year, the same to renew and to transfer. A .de costs $10.99/year and a .io $54.99/year. The optional Domain protection adds +$29/year per domain. All 129 extensions are on the [pricing page](https://nomineename.com/pricing/).

### Which cryptocurrencies do you accept?

BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. USDT is accepted on Tron (TRC-20) and Ethereum (ERC-20). Monero is not accepted. You top up a prepaid balance, then register, renew or transfer from it. Send the exact amount on the exact network: it is matched by its exact amount and credited once the network confirms it. See [pay with crypto](https://nomineename.com/pay-with-crypto/).

### Is there a minimum top-up?

Yes: $25. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it.

### Do renewals cost more than the first year?

No. Each extension has one yearly price for registration, renewal and transfer. There is no low first-year price that jumps in year two. Renewals are paid from your balance; switch on auto-renew if you want the balance used at expiry.

## Extensions

### Which extensions can you hold in your name?

129 extensions, including .com, .net, .org, .io, .ai, .co, .app, .dev and .xyz. They also include country codes whose registries accept a foreign company as holder, such as .de, .uk, .nl, .ch, .pl, .be, .at, .cz, .fi and .nz. The full list with rules and prices is on the [extensions page](https://nomineename.com/tld/).

### Can I register a .de or .uk without giving my address?

Yes. The .de, .uk, .nl, .ch, .pl, .be, .at, .cz, .to, .cc, .fi and .nz registries require a holder's name and postal address, or publish it. When we hold the domain, the registry receives our company's details, not yours. Example: [.de in our name](https://nomineename.com/tld/de/).

### Which extensions can you not hold?

.us, .eu, .fr, .it and .ca, plus extensions that check identity or local presence, such as .au, .jp, .dk, .cn, .ru and .in. Their registries require a holder that our company is not. The reasons and sources are on [extensions we cannot hold](https://nomineename.com/extensions-we-cannot-hold/).

## Control and transfers

### Can I move a domain from another registrar into your name?

Yes, for the extensions we sell. Unlock it at your current registrar, get the transfer code and start the transfer from your account. ICANN blocks transfers for 60 days after a registration or a previous transfer. Once the domain arrives, the registrant becomes our company. Steps: [move a domain into our name](https://nomineename.com/guides/move-a-domain-into-our-name/).

### Can I take my domain back in my own name?

Yes, free, on request to support from your verified email address, where the registry accepts you as holder. Your own details then go to the registry. You can also move the domain to another registrar with the transfer code. Steps: [take your domain back in your name](https://nomineename.com/guides/take-your-domain-back-in-your-name/).

### What happens to my domain if NomineeName stops operating?

Our [terms](https://nomineename.com/legal/terms/) (section 11) say we tell you by email in advance, and the transfer code and the free hand-back to your own name stay available during that notice period. The beneficial-owner agreement cannot be reduced for a period you have paid. If our registrar partner lost its ICANN accreditation, ICANN rules move its domains to another accredited registrar, using the registration data kept in escrow; DomaineGoat LLC would stay the registrant of record and your rights would not change.

### What does Domain protection add?

It costs $29 a year per domain and adds three things. First, a transfer lock on by default: every transfer or DNS change is confirmed from your account. Second, minimal data: DomaineGoat LLC holds only your email. Third, a person reads every complaint before any action on the domain, and you are told when the law allows; without the option, complaints follow the abuse policy. Details: [Domain protection](https://nomineename.com/domain-protection/).

## Complaints and disputes

### Can a complaint get my domain taken down?

No takedown on complaint alone. A complaint for copyright, defamation, political reasons or from a competitor is not enough: it needs a decision from a Panamanian court. The strict exceptions are below. Details: [abuse policy](https://nomineename.com/abuse/).

### What leads to suspension?

Phishing (including pharming), malware, botnets, child sexual abuse material, and fraud that takes money from victims: fake shops, investment and crypto scams, wallet drainers, impersonation of a bank or brand, sale of stolen data. Phishing, malware, botnets and fraud are acted on within 24 hours of a well-documented report. Child sexual abuse material is handled immediately, and the URLs are reported to NCMEC. Other reports get a reply within 2 business days. Report to abuse@nomineename.com, no account needed.

### What happens in a UDRP trademark dispute?

The UDRP is an ICANN obligation. The complaint names DomaineGoat LLC, the registrant of record. We tell you the same business day the dispute provider contacts us, and you can defend yourself. The domain is locked within 2 business days of the dispute provider's request, stays locked during the case, and the panel's decision is applied. Panels often name both the service and the revealed beneficial owner in the decision. See [UDRP and nominee domains](https://nomineename.com/udrp-and-nominee-domains/).

### Can a DMCA notice take my domain down?

Not on its own. A DMCA notice is a complaint under US law: we take no action on the domain on the notice alone, because a copyright claim needs a decision that binds us, from a Panamanian court. We reply within 2 business days. Send the notice to the hosting company of the site, which controls the content. See the [abuse policy](https://nomineename.com/abuse/).

### Do you publish how many requests you receive?

Yes, in a quarterly transparency report. The first report is due in January 2027 and covers launch to 31 December 2026. We publish no figure before we have one. See the [transparency page](https://nomineename.com/transparency/).
