Quick answer

How does a nominee domain registration work?

Here is how a nominee domain registration works at NomineeName, as of October 2026. You search a name and top up a crypto balance (minimum $25). We register the domain with DomaineGoat LLC as registrant of record. You confirm one email, then run DNS, renewals and transfers from your account. A .com costs $12.99/year, everything included.

What are the steps to order a domain in our name?

The order takes five steps. None of them asks for a document, a phone number or a postal address.

  1. Look up the name

Enter the name you want in the domain search. For most extensions the answer shows right away. For .io, .co and .me, availability is confirmed at order, so wait for that confirmation before you plan around the name.

  2. Top up your balance

Pick a coin and a network. The top-up equals your cart, or $25 if the cart is smaller. The balance then pays registrations, renewals and transfers.

  3. Send the payment

Send the exact amount on the exact network shown on the payment page. It is matched by its exact amount and credited once the network confirms it. Details per coin are on pay with crypto.

  4. We register the domain in our company's name

Our registrar partner files the domain with DomaineGoat LLC as registrant. Registries that keep contact data receive the company's name, address and phone; the .com and .net registries receive no contact data at all. Your own details are not part of the file.

  5. Confirm your email

Click the link we send. ICANN rules require a working, verified contact within 15 days of a registration. The address stays with us and is never published.

Who can see what once the domain is live?

After the order, the public record and the registry file both point to our company. Only NomineeName links the domain to your account and your email.

What can you change from your account after registration?

Everything that makes the domain work is in your hands. The company's name on the record does not limit what you do day to day.

  • DNS records: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and the others your site or mail needs.
  • Nameservers: keep ours or point the domain to a DNS provider, your host or your own servers.
  • Redirects: forward the domain to another address.
  • Renewals: renew from your balance; a .com renews at $12.99.
  • Transfer code: free, from your account, at any time, if you want to move the domain elsewhere.
  • Your own name on the record: free, on request to support from your verified email address, on extensions whose registry accepts you as holder.

What does the optional Domain protection change in this process?

It adds safeguards after step 5, for $29 per year per domain on top of the domain price. Registration in our name does not depend on it.

  1. A transfer lock is on by default, and every transfer or DNS change must be confirmed from your account.
  2. Minimal data: DomaineGoat LLC holds only your email for the domain.
  3. A person reads every complaint before any action on the domain, and you are told when the law allows it. Without the option, complaints follow the abuse policy. Reports of phishing, malware, botnets or fraud keep their 24-hour target, and child abuse material is still handled immediately.

Questions about the process

How long does it take before the domain is registered?

Registration starts once your top-up is credited. Credit depends on the network: each coin needs a set number of confirmations, from 1 on Solana to 20 on Tron. We do not promise a fixed delay, because block times vary. The pay with crypto page lists the confirmations per network.

No. The search works without an account. You create the account when you order: opening it needs no email, and each domain you register needs one verified email. There is no ID check, no selfie and no phone number at any step.

What if I do not confirm my email within 15 days?

ICANN rules then require the registrar to check the contact by hand or suspend the domain. Confirming takes one click, so do it on the day of the order. Use an address you will still read in a year, because renewal notices go there.

Can I move an existing domain into your name?

Yes, through an inbound transfer from your current registrar. You need the transfer code and an unlocked domain. The steps, and the 60-day lock ICANN applies after some changes, are in move a domain into our name.

Can I leave and take the domain with me?

Yes. You can get the transfer code free, from your account, at any time, and we charge nothing when a domain leaves. You can also ask for the domain to be put in your own name, free, on request to support from your verified email address, where the registry accepts you as holder.
