Quick answer

Can I register a .com domain in your company's name?

Yes: you can register a .com domain in our name at NomineeName. The registrant is DomaineGoat LLC, incorporated in Panama, so the registrant record and WHOIS/RDAP show the company, never you. As of October 2026, .com costs $12.99/year, nominee registration included. No ID, no KYC — only a verified email, kept private — and you pay in crypto.

Who registers .com in a company's name?

A .com is the default address for a business, a product or a project, anywhere in the world. That is also why it attracts the most WHOIS lookups. Unannounced founders, writers with a pen name and consultants who work from home often want the name without their own name behind it. With nominee registration, the .com belongs on paper to our company, and you run it from your account.

What the .com registry receives, what WHOIS shows, what we keep

WhoWhat they get for your .com domain
VerisignNo registrant contact data: .com is a thin registry. The registrar's record names DomaineGoat LLC, not you.
Public WHOIS / RDAPThe company as registrant, or fields the registry redacts. Never your name.
NomineeNameYour verified email and your orders. The email never goes to the registry.
YouBeneficial owner: DNS, renewals and the transfer code (free, from your account, at any time).

What does the .com registry ask of a holder?

Verisign runs the .com registry under its contract with ICANN, so ICANN rules apply in full. The .com registry is "thin": Verisign receives no registrant contact data at all, only the registrar, the nameservers and the dates. The registrant record sits with the registrar, which must check a working email within 15 days of a registration, a transfer or a change. Since 21 August 2025, ICANN's Registration Data Policy says that when the Organisation field is filled in, that organisation is the registrant. On a NomineeName .com, that organisation is our company, so the legal holder is a company, not you. Since 28 January 2025, RDAP has replaced WHOIS as the official lookup: Verisign's RDAP answer lists the registrar, and the registrar's RDAP shows the company record.

If you fill in your own employer by mistake at a normal registrar, your employer becomes the owner. Here that field is never yours.

What should you check before registering .com?

  • Price stability: Verisign raises its wholesale .com fee on 1 November 2026. Our grid keeps one price for registration, renewal and transfer.
  • Term: 1 to 10 years per order. Renew from your balance before expiry.
  • Transfers: ICANN blocks a transfer for 60 days after a registration or a transfer. Plan a move into our name with that in mind (guide).

Frequently asked questions

Is a .com registered in a company's name still mine?

You are the beneficial owner, under the written agreement in our terms. Our company is the registrant of record shown in RDAP. You decide the DNS, the renewals and any transfer. You can move the .com elsewhere with the transfer code. You can also have it put in your own name: anyone may hold a .com.

Can I see what the public sees for my .com?

Yes. Type the domain into lookup.icann.org, the official RDAP lookup. The registrant fields show our company or redacted values, and the registrar, dates, nameservers and status codes stay public as on every .com. Our step-by-step guide explains each field: check who the registrant is.

Can I hold several .com names in your name?

Yes. Each .com you register is held by our company, and all of them sit in one account with one verified email. You renew, redirect or transfer each name on its own. For larger sets, read a domain portfolio in our name.

Who owns a .com domain held in your name?

DomaineGoat LLC is the registrant of record and you are the beneficial owner, under a written agreement in our terms. Your transfer code: free, from your account, at any time. The hand-back of the .com name to you is free, on request to support from your verified email address. It works where the registry accepts you as holder.

Can a complaint take my .com domain down?

Not on its own: copyright, defamation, political or competitor complaints need a decision from a Panamanian court. The strict exceptions have fixed delays: phishing, malware, botnets and fraud that takes money from victims within 24 hours of a well-documented report, child sexual abuse material immediately. See the abuse policy.
