Quick answer
Can I register a .uk domain in your company's name?
Yes: you can register a .uk domain in our name at NomineeName. The registrant is DomaineGoat LLC, incorporated in Panama, so the registrant record and WHOIS/RDAP show the company, never you. As of October 2026, .uk costs $8.99/year, nominee registration included. No ID, no KYC — only a verified email, kept private — and you pay in crypto.

Who registers .uk in a company's name?
A .uk is the extension of the UK market. Nominet runs both the direct .uk names and .co.uk. Sole traders, freelancers and small UK shops are the main users, and many work from home. A .uk in our name keeps the home address out of Nominet's records.
What the .uk registry receives, what WHOIS shows, what we keep
| Who | What they get for your .uk domain |
|---|---|
| Nominet UK | DomaineGoat LLC as holder, with the company's address. Nothing about you. |
| Public WHOIS / RDAP | The company as registrant, or fields the registry redacts. Never your name. |
| NomineeName | Your verified email and your orders. The email never goes to the registry. |
| You | Beneficial owner: DNS, renewals and the transfer code (free, from your account, at any time). |
What does the .uk registry ask of a holder?
Nominet UK runs the registry. Since 22 May 2018, a .uk holder no longer needs a UK address for notices: the extension is open worldwide. Nominet validates the address data it receives. It redacts registrant contact data in its public lookup. Its old privacy services framework was dropped. When we hold the .uk, the data Nominet validates and stores is our company's, so your home address is never part of the check.
What should you check before registering .uk?
- Address validation: Nominet checks addresses. Nominee registration means our company's address is the one checked.
- Term: 1 to 10 years per order.
- No IDN: .uk does not take accented characters.
- UK traders: business rules on showing trading details on your site still apply to you.
- Abuse rules: our suspension rules for phishing, malware and fraud apply to .uk like any other extension.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a UK address to register a .uk?
No. Nominet removed the UK address requirement on 22 May 2018. It still validates the holder's address. Registered in our name, the address Nominet sees and validates is our company's, not your home.
Does Nominet show my name on a .uk domain?
Nominet redacts registrant contact data in its public lookup. It still holds the full record. On a NomineeName .uk, that record names our company. Your verified email stays with us and is never sent to Nominet.
Can I take my .uk back in my own name later?
Yes, free, on request. Nominet then receives your name and address and validates them. No UK address is needed since 2018, so a holder from any country is accepted. Your details would then sit in Nominet's records, though redacted in public lookups.
Who owns a .uk domain held in your name?
DomaineGoat LLC is the registrant of record and you are the beneficial owner, under a written agreement in our terms. Your transfer code: free, from your account, at any time. The hand-back of the .uk name to you is free, on request to support from your verified email address. It works where the registry accepts you as holder.
Can a complaint take my .uk domain down?
Not on its own: copyright, defamation, political or competitor complaints need a decision from a Panamanian court. The strict exceptions have fixed delays: phishing, malware, botnets and fraud that takes money from victims within 24 hours of a well-documented report, child sexual abuse material immediately. See the abuse policy.
