Quick answer

Can I register a .ch domain in your company's name?

Yes: you can register a .ch domain in our name at NomineeName. The registrant is DomaineGoat LLC, incorporated in Panama, so the registrant record and WHOIS/RDAP show the company, never you. As of October 2026, .ch costs $13.99/year, nominee registration included. No ID, no KYC — only a verified email, kept private — and you pay in crypto.

Who registers .ch in a company's name?

A .ch is the extension of the Swiss market. Swiss-facing companies, consultants and privacy-minded users choose it. SWITCH stopped publishing holder names and addresses in 2021. The registry still keeps them. Holding the .ch in our name means the kept record is our company's.

What the .ch registry receives, what WHOIS shows, what we keep

WhoWhat they get for your .ch domain
SWITCH The Swiss Education & Research NetworkDomaineGoat LLC as holder, with the company's address. Nothing about you.
Public WHOIS / RDAPThe company as registrant, or fields the registry redacts. Never your name.
NomineeNameYour verified email and your orders. The email never goes to the registry.
YouBeneficial owner: DNS, renewals and the transfer code (free, from your account, at any time).

What does the .ch registry ask of a holder?

SWITCH, the Swiss Education and Research Network, runs .ch. The registry sets no residence condition. Since 2021, under a Swiss ordinance, it no longer publishes the holder's name and address. Publication and storage are different: the registry still receives and stores the holder data. On a NomineeName .ch, the stored data is our company's. Swiss authorities that request registry data would get the company's details.

What should you check before registering .ch?

  • One year per order: .ch is registered and renewed one year at a time.
  • Accented names: .ch supports IDN, so Swiss German and French spellings work.
  • Hand-back: anyone may hold a .ch, so taking it back in your name is simple.
  • Storage vs publication: a hidden WHOIS does not mean the registry forgets the holder. Nominee registration is about what the registry stores, not only what it shows.
  • DNSSEC: available.

Frequently asked questions

Is .ch WHOIS already private?

Public WHOIS no longer shows the holder's name and address, since a 2021 Swiss ordinance. The registry keeps them, though. With nominee registration, the record the registry keeps holds our company's details, so your data is neither public nor stored there.

Can a company outside Switzerland hold a .ch?

Yes. The .ch registry sets no residence rule. Our company, incorporated in Panama, holds .ch names for customers. You remain the beneficial owner and manage the DNS from your account.

How long is a .ch registered for?

One year per order. Every renewal adds one year. Our price is the same for registration, renewal and transfer. Keep enough balance or switch on auto-renew, because a lapsed .ch can be registered by someone else.

Who owns a .ch domain held in your name?

DomaineGoat LLC is the registrant of record and you are the beneficial owner, under a written agreement in our terms. Your transfer code: free, from your account, at any time. The hand-back of the .ch name to you is free, on request to support from your verified email address. It works where the registry accepts you as holder.

Can a complaint take my .ch domain down?

Not on its own: copyright, defamation, political or competitor complaints need a decision from a Panamanian court. The strict exceptions have fixed delays: phishing, malware, botnets and fraud that takes money from victims within 24 hours of a well-documented report, child sexual abuse material immediately. See the abuse policy.
