Who registers .email in a company's name?

A .email is used for email services and newsletters. A newsletter writer may want a sending domain that is not tied to a home address. Registered in our name, the .email record holds our company's details. Mail still flows through the servers you choose.

What does the .email registry ask of a holder?

Identity Digital runs .email through its company Binky Moon, LLC, under an ICANN contract. There is no eligibility rule. The registry receives our company as holder. The contact email we verify, as ICANN requires, is yours, and we never publish it or send it to the registry. Mail sent to the public registrant contact is relayed to that verified email under the rule explained in how it works.

What should you check before registering .email?

  • Mail records: set MX, SPF and DKIM records from your DNS settings before you send.
  • Spam: spam that delivers phishing or malware is DNS abuse under ICANN rules and leads to suspension.
  • Term: 1 to 10 years per order.
  • Accented names: supported.
  • Hand-back: anyone may hold a .email, so the registry accepts you as holder if you ask for the transfer of ownership.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send a newsletter from a .email held in your name?

Yes. Mail delivery depends on your DNS records and your sending service, not on the registrant. Add the records your provider asks for. Keep lists clean: spam used to deliver phishing or malware leads to suspension.

Where do messages to the .email registrant go?

Messages sent to the public registrant contact are relayed to your verified email, as described in how it works. Your address itself is never published and never sent to the registry.

Who runs .email?

Identity Digital, through its company Binky Moon, LLC, under an ICANN contract. The same company runs .finance and .money. There is no eligibility rule for .email.

Who owns a .email domain held in your name?

DomaineGoat LLC is the registrant of record and you are the beneficial owner, under a written agreement in our terms. Your transfer code: free, from your account, at any time. The hand-back of the .email name to you is free, on request to support from your verified email address. It works where the registry accepts you as holder.

Can a complaint take my .email domain down?

Not on its own: copyright, defamation, political or competitor complaints need a decision from a Panamanian court. The strict exceptions have fixed delays: phishing, malware, botnets and fraud that takes money from victims within 24 hours of a well-documented report, child sexual abuse material immediately. See the abuse policy.
